Killeroo 3D Scan |
The aim of the Killeroo project is to demonstrate the capabilities of both the headus scanning bureau and the software we develop. We commissioned Martin Rezard, a Sydney based sculptor, to design a creature that "was halfway between a Kangaroo and a Raptor". On approval of his sketches he sculpted one half, 400mm (16") from nose to tail, made a mould, and cast us two copies in plastic resin.
The creature was scanned on our M15 platform using CyDir, and the half was joined with its mirror image to create a complete polymesh. Then, using CySlice, the dense polymesh was fitted with regular grids to create simplified polymeshes, NURBS and SUBD surfaces.
