Here's a little test, I didn't need to unwarp every single piece of this ship, but it was a good training Smile

Get some instability for some parts of the model, but the geometry was not very smart, lots of huge ngones, and some small broken faces. (export from a nurbs model).

Wow, that's a lot of small fiddly pieces, and a heap of work even with UVLayout! Oh, and I love the texture map :-) It makes my sample models look very dull.

Thanks for sharing your work!

Phil

Oh my gosh! This design is really, really great, paqwak! Certainly a great test design, if I do say so myself.

I know that you posted this about 2 years ago, but I found your design in a google image search and had to find the original post and comment. Are you a general 3D designer/animator or a prototype designer? I'm studying prototype design. . .only I'm using 3D Studio Max and AutoCAD's tools. Haven't used Headus yet. . . . which I only found out about through this post, ironically enough.

Anyway, great ship. The design is solid and the newspaper skin rocks!

I've got to say, for this being the first post that I clicked on other than just browsing around the front page, I am absolutely blown away. The fact that you used the newspaper texture makes it just that much more appealing. Something very ancient to construct something very futuristic. Do you know if there is anyway to import images from headus in to my e-mail marketing software? I would love to include some imagery to draw in my potential customers. Very cool.
